Rishi was born in 1989 in Maryland to his parents that moved to the USA from India a few years prior. He was raised alongside his sister, Anjali, who grew up with a great relationship as siblings and remain very involved in each other's lives today.
Rishi has many cousins from both his Dad and Mom's sides of the family, including over 20 second cousins that have remained a part of his life. Over the years, the family would spend holidays together and many times would share those moments with cousins as well. The life in the Jain household was full of fun memories, from sporting events, to travels, to school activities. We commonly were either hosting or attending dinner parties with family friends, which has translated to both Rishi and Amanda loving to host our own friends over the years.
Indian culture was a big part of our family growing up, but not in the most traditional sense. We all grew up fortunate to have experienced so many of the cultures that surrounded us in schools and the community. Much of our immediate family friends were Indian-American, but we immersed into the cultures around us in public school, which allowed both Anjali and Rishi to embrace and appreciate the world around us. Over the years, both Anjali and Rishi have lived in Ohio and Virginia but have always gotten together for various gatherings, such as birthdays, family weddings, graduations, and vacation. We remain close both amongst ourselves and with our extended family.
Today, both of Rishi's grandmothers are with us, one in the USA, and the other in India. They have also remained close to the family and our Grandfathers are remembered by the family as strong and influential individuals. We are excited to begin the new generation of children in the Jain family, and both Rishi's parents and sister are excited to become Grandparents and an Aunt!
